accessibility needs: I live with chronic pain due to previous injury/illnesses, I may need to reschedule at times due to flare ups. I have a scent sensitivity, so please minimize perfume/cologne wear when in my chair, I’m neurospicy and will sometimes answer texts in my brain but not irl, don’t hesitate to double text if you don’t hear from me in 24 hrs.
special interests: comic books, good food, resting with friends, the chip aisle at the grocery store, playing Zelda, and hyperfixating on whatever article of clothing I have recently thrifted, having 2+ drink options at all times (self- identified beverage goblin)
I am a Spanish speaking queer non-binary tenderoni who deeply understands the connection between hair and gender euphoria.
My first affirming cut occurred in Philadelphia in 2015, when I shyly entered a barbershop and asked if I could be seen. Experiencing how my then- barber took the time to ensure I felt pretty, handsome and cute re-ignited an interest in hair that had laid dormant since my undergraduate days when I would provide cuts as a hobby.
As I blossomed into myself and into my interests, I decided to give myself an opportunity to do work that mattered to me, and thus began my pursuit of hair as a career in 2021. As a person with an expansive community, I knew that I wanted to be intentional with ensuring I worked with all hair textures, lengths and provided an intentional space for other folks to feel held, seen and safe.
In my chair, I combine my stylist experience with my social work background to employ active listening, affirmations, and accessibility. To me, this looks like first time client consultations, sliding scale services, longer length services, non-speaking services, along with any additional input from current and past guests.
