We live in a world where it is perfectly legal in half of our country to discriminate against natural hairstyles, so the decision to wear your natural curl pattern, get braids, or start your loc journey is worthy of celebration. In order to respect your crown we are continually investing in the top training to work alongside you in your natural hair journey.

Our perseverance to wake up every day and live authentically queer and trans lives is a powerful statement. We are an entirely queer and trans staff that possesses both the lived experience and training to help you express and claim your gender authentically. Being visibly or openly queer and trans is resistance and we will not be erased.

We are a majority disabled and neurodivergent staff with lived experience in navigating the challenges of haircare when working with limited energy and abilities. This means we’re ready to meet you where you’re at with the goal to make haircare and hair styling easier and more manageable.

We believe that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, so our hair salon was designed with intention to be a fat positive space with furniture that can accommodate up to 800lbs comfortably.

Black Sheep Salon was thoughtfully created to center the experiences of the disabled community and the lack of access to local business, beauty, and salon services many people experience.
